The Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield Bill Chetwynd Memorial Gala is returning to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Boys & Girls Club. The event will be held on Friday, August 4th at Danversport Yacht Club. The event will bring together supporters, community leaders, and friends to celebrate the organization’s 50th anniversary.
Marc commented “I am humbled to be honored at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield’s annual gala celebrating their 50th anniversary. I am happy to see that my investment in the Clubs’ programming has allowed the organization to serve more children and more caregivers than ever. In addition to celebrating the past, I am excited to spend an evening talking about the future and the Clubs’ plan to make an even larger impact.”
“We have so many reasons to celebrate,” says Adam Rodgers, Chief Executive Officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield. “For 50 years, thanks to the unwavering support of our community the Boys & Girls Clubs have provided a safe place for our community’s young people to grow and thrive. Now, as we look forward to the next 50 years, we are pioneering new programs, adding mental health supports, first jobs programs, adaptive and inclusive sports, music, and the arts . We are opening new locations and rebuilding our existing locations. We are reinforcing our community’s social safety net by assisting in wrap-around services for the entire family whether it is assistance with food, child care, holiday gifts, or emergency financial assistance. These new initiatives and exciting new capital projects are possible in no small part because of investors like Marc Trachtenberg, who believe in supporting the community and believe in our club’s vision to provide great futures for all the kids in our area.”
The event will gather hundreds of guests for an unforgettable evening filled with moving testimonials from current and alumni members, the unveiling of future plans, delicious food and drink, an award ceremony, and silent and live auctions.
In addition to honoring Marc Trachtenberg, the Clubs will be recognizing the work of Susan Mansur, a local philanthropist whose family has dedicated their life to local causes. They will also preview their plans for expansion, highlighting the efforts of Congresswoman and Minority Whip Katherine Clark and Congressman Seth Moulton.
