Trachtenberg Family donates $65,000+ to Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield. Marc Trachtenberg joins Board of Directors.

The gift will provide immediate relief to families negatively impacted by the COVID-19 and allow the Clubs to make much needed capital improvements.

Stoneham/Wakefield – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield has recently received a $53,000.00 gift from the Trachtenberg Family of Wakefield. This is in addition to a previous donation of $12,000.00 made by the family over the holidays. These donations have helped the Clubs provide more services as well as make capital upgrades across their facilities.

“It was with great pleasure that we made the investment in the Boys and Girls Club. As we were making decisions on what organizations to donate to, it was very important to us to be able to make an impact in our community and to our youth,” said Marc Trachtenberg.

“In light of the many challenges children and families are confronting today, this generous gift is both timely and essential to our children’s future success. We are committed to improving and expanding our programs and serving more kids in more ways, and the generosity of the Trachtenberg family allows us to fulfill that commitment” said Boys & Girls Clubs CEO Adam Rodgers. “Beyond the donation, Marc has been a great partner, and he has already put a lot of time and energy into making our Clubs and the community the best they can be.”

It was this investment of time and knowledge that led to an invitation to Marc to join the Board of Directors.

Adam continued, “As Marc invested more of his time, helped build partnerships, and offered more advice, we knew someone with his extensive business acumen would be an asset to our Board.”

The Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield agreed, electing him to the Board the week of April 5.

“In a short time, Marc and his family have become some of the largest, if not the largest philanthropists in the community, donating hundreds of thousands to our schools, and now tens of thousands to our Clubs. On top of that, he is a very successful business leader, he’s the President &CEO of Silk Title Company, the founder of Velocity Labs…you know, a donation is an investment, and it’s incredibly humbling to have Marc and his family invest in the Clubs. The donation and involvement. It’s like getting a deal on Shark Tank,” quipped Director of Development Anthony Guardia.

Anthony continued, “I’m excited to see where this partnership goes. I still remember where I was when he made his first donation. We were trying to raise enough money to make sure every kid had a happy holiday during COVID. Every time someone donates, I get a notification on my phone. I saw the gift come in and nearly broke my phone. He helped a lot of families when they needed it most. We’re going to do a lot of good together. Our community is very, very lucky to have the Trachtenberg Family in it, and wanting to serve it.”

“It has been exciting to work with the leadership of the Boys and Girls Club over the past few months and now an honor to join the Board of Directors,” said Marc Trachtenberg
